The Artillery Museum contains a section of ground dedicated as the Proud Americans Park. This was created in large part due to the efforts of Ralph Jones and the support of the Proud Americans. Mr Spivey, Director of the Artillery Museum and his staff were indispensable in getting this project off the ground. The park, which contained soil from all states and every country the Proud Americans served, was moved from another location at Fort Sill and faithfully restored to what you see below. New displays were designed and added to the park. Care was taken that these displays would retain their current look for decades. This park will be a permanent reminder to all visitors of the Museum of the critical role the Proud Americans, 2ND of the 32ND Field Artillery, played in Vietnam and in all wars starting with World War II. Our fight continues today in Iraq and Afghanistan where the Proud Americans fight the War on Terror.
Below are pictures of the Proud American Park and a presentation by Ralph Jones to Colonel Battaglia of The First Cavalry Division and LTC Robert Rodiguez Commander of the 2nd/8th Cavalery unit that includes pictures and memorabilia for display at their headquarters commerating FSB Illingworth.
